Yuga Labs Offers Bitcoin Prizes In Ordinal Puzzle Series

Yuga Labs, the parent company of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), unveiled a 13-week cipher puzzle series on September 5th centered around their TwelveFold Bitcoin NFT collection, aiming to reignite interest in Bitcoin Ordinals Inscriptions.

The TwelveFold collection, introduced in February, is a generative art series consisting of 300 unique pieces, artfully crafted on a 12×12 grid. Now, Yuga Labs is set to challenge the community with an engaging puzzle series spanning 13 weeks.

Accessing the Puzzles

The first puzzle, which can be accessed here, has already been solved, according to the official website. The provided clue – “Having two together during hibernation can make all the difference” – featured six images of what appeared to be Twelvefold ordinals.

One participant, who goes by the X (formerly Twitter ) username @subvert_nft, indicated he solved the puzzle but didn’t do it in time.

This is Puzzle #1.

6 images of what seemingly look like TwelveFold Ordinals, plus a one-liner hint:

“Having two together during hibernation can make all the difference.”

Look closer though, and you’ll see that each Ordinal image is slightly blurred.

The Rules

You Need a Bitcoin Ordinals Wallet

Users who want to participate in the 13-week puzzle series must have a Bitcoin ordinals wallet.

Submitting an Answer

For the first 12 weeks, Yuga Labs will release a Moon Puzzle each week, with an approximate $3,000 USD reward (approx. 0.12 BTC) given to the user who solves the puzzle the fastest.

To submit an answer, participants must go to the puzzle page and select a puzzle that has not been resolved. Once you have all the information filled out, you can inscribe your answer by clicking the “inscribe my answer” button, as stated on the official website.

Before it’s inscribed, however, participants must pay a fee of $4 USD to $8 USD, depending on network traffic. Once an answer is submitted, it will subsequently be inscribed on “satoshis” – Bitcoin’s smallest unit of account. This could take anywhere from 10 minutes to several hours to process.

Since there can only be one winner per puzzle, according to Yuga, in the event two people submit the right answer in the same Bitcoin block, the user whose answer has the lower inscription number will win.

The first correct answer that gets inscribed is the puzzle winner. There can only be 1 winner per puzzle. If two people submit the right answer in the same Bitcoin block, we’ll accept the answer with the lower inscription number. Winners will be notified by email.

The grand finale awaits on the thirteenth week when the last puzzle drops and the fastest solver will be rewarded with an undisclosed Twelvefold ordinal.

Claiming Prizes

To claim a prize, Yuga has a few tax forms for winners to fill out. More information can be found in the Terms and Conditions section of the official website.
