Walrus, a high-performance storage and data availability protocol built on the Sui blockchain, has announced a new partnership with Allium Labs, an enterprise-grade blockchain data platform. In its latest post on X, Walrus noted that Allium will bring more than 65TB of indexed historical records from leading blockchains to its on-chain data layer.

🚨 BIG: 65 TB of indexed blockchain data from Bitcoin, Sui, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Tron and $XRP just landed on Walrus.

And we’re not talking raw data. These are standardized, finance-ready datasets from @AlliumLabs, the platform trusted by Visa and Stripe.

Allium Provides Indexed Data From Top Blockchains

According to Walrus Protocol, the indexed data will come from Bitcoin, Sui, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Tron, and $XRP. It described the dataset as standardized and finance-ready, noting that it is coming from a platform trusted by Visa and Stripe. Walrus further noted that the dataset would remain encrypted, to be unlocked only after purchases are made.

In the meantime, Walrus said its collaboration with Allium aims to give institutions a new way of accessing blockchain data with “unmatched verifiability and availability.” Additionally, it aims to allow builders to access institutional-grade data through dashboards and developer tools.

Making Data Verifiable and Always Available

Walrus Foundation managing executive Rebecca Simmonds believes that the data that underpins high-stakes financial decisions needs a verifiable foundation. According to Simmonds, Allium is an established firm that is already serving some of the biggest names in global fintech. She believes partnering with Walrus will provide Allium the opportunity to make its data verifiable and always available.

Meanwhile, Allium’s CEO, Ethan Chan, expressed his willingness to publish selected datasets through Walrus while experimenting with decentralized infrastructure as an additional distribution layer for institutional-grade blockchain data.

It is crucial to note that Walrus is a creation of Mysten Labs, the team behind the Sui blockchain. It is designed to serve as a verifiable data platform for builders in AI and on-chain finance. Partnering with Allium thrives on several of Walrus’ core features, including accessibility in the event of node failures and on-chain data verification.
