SBF’s parents are reportedly seeking a full pardon for SBF & also a meeting was recently held with top lawyers.
Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) is a very infamous crypto entrepreneur. He is known for his crypto exchange FTX, which collapsed badly in Q4 2022, following a report by Coindesk media about FTX’s real financial position. SBF & some other top executives of this exchange were found guilty of misusing customers’ funds for personal benefits. For all this misconduct, he faced a 25-year jail sentence.
On 31 Jan 2025, Bloomberg reported that SBF’s parents are currently engaged in talking with US President Donald Trump to get a pardon for their son.
A person familiar with this matter disclosed that SBF’s parents, Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried, recently held meetings with lawyers and other top figures in Trump’s orbit to discuss seeking leniency for their son.
The majority of the Crypto X users responded to this news & said that the best pardon for SBF is to stay in jail.
Donald Trump & Pardon for Silk Road creator
10 days ago, Donald Trump gave a full pardon to Silk Road creator Ross Ulbricht.
Ulbricht was accused of running an illegal goods trading platform, where Bitcoin was a payment tool. In reality, his platform was open to everyone, so there were bad as well as good actors. Ulbricht was innocent because he only integrated the existing technology together to provide a way for people to trade goods & services but his platform was misused by the bad actors badly.
So we can say that Ulbricht was innocent & that is why Trump provided full pardon to him.
But here the case with SBF is totally different. He misused the customers’ funds for personal benefits, for example, highly expensive gifts and political donations. Here, we can say that there is a chance for SBF to get pardoned.
