Kraken UAE withdrawal deadline: Seven assets face liquidation

Kraken will close withdrawals for seven crypto assets held by its United Arab Emirates customers at 14:00 UTC on Monday, Sept. 14, leaving remaining balances subject to liquidation by the exchange. Those sales are scheduled for Sept. 15–25, 2026, and Kraken has not guaranteed the currency customers will receive.

The UAE delisting notice covers Monero (XMR), Zcash (ZEC), Dash (DASH), USDD, Dai (DAI), USDS and Ethena USD (USDE). The restriction applies to clients residing in the UAE.

Kraken UAE 2026 timetable for XMR, ZEC, DASH, USDD, DAI, USDS and USDE: notice June 1; scheduled margin closure June 15 and deposits, trading and margin disabling June 16; withdrawals disabled Sept. 14 at 14:00 UTC after availability through 13:59; remaining balances scheduled for liquidation Sept. 15–25. Proceeds currency cannot be confirmed or guaranteed before execution.

Kraken’s status notice specifies that withdrawals remain available until 13:59 UTC on Sept. 14 and will be disabled at 14:00 UTC. For customers still holding these assets on the platform, that is the cutoff for moving them out before the scheduled liquidation process.

The gap between the withdrawal deadline and the liquidation window does not give holders extra time to withdraw. Once withdrawals close, affected balances left on Kraken fall under the exchange’s timetable for selling them. The notices do not specify when each customer’s holdings will be liquidated within that window.

Proceeds currency remains unspecified

Kraken says prevailing market conditions will determine the denomination of liquidation proceeds, which it cannot guarantee or confirm before execution. In practical terms, a customer leaving affected holdings on the exchange will not have a confirmed proceeds currency in advance of the sale.

The notice offers no commitment to settle the liquidation in dollars, dirhams, bitcoin or a particular stablecoin. Customers therefore cannot treat any of those possible denominations as an assured outcome.

That uncertainty concerns what customers receive after liquidation. It is separate from the withdrawal restriction: the notices set a firm cutoff for moving the original assets out, while leaving the denomination of the resulting proceeds unresolved.

Monday’s cutoff follows an announcement made more than three months earlier. Kraken published the status notice on June 1, 2026, and its support page lists the same date as its last update. The imminent withdrawal deadline implements a later stage of that previously announced cycle.

The timetable scheduled open margin positions to close June 15 at 14:00 UTC. Deposits and trading were scheduled to stop June 16 at 14:00 UTC, with the status notice also listing margin services for disabling that day. September’s withdrawal and liquidation stages follow those earlier scheduled restrictions.

Kraken attributes the UAE delisting cycle to its regular asset reviews. The notices describe restrictions for its UAE-resident customers; they do not announce a nationwide prohibition on the seven assets. The approaching deadline is therefore specific to affected balances held on Kraken.
