Mint Your Planet in Phantom Galaxies

Phantom Galaxies opens up their Planet mint, allowing Mintpass holders a chance to create their very own generative, planetary NFT. And you can even choose some of the planet’s traits by using Planetary Catalysts to guide its creation!

The time for the Planet mint has come to Phantom Galaxies! Gather your Mintpass, your Catalysts, and visit the Phantom Galaxies Planet Mint page to begin!

If you don’t already own a Planet Mintpass, you can pick them up on Open Sea. Prices range from ~$185 USD for a Small Asteroid to $300,000 for a Large Planet. Catalyst prices begin at 7.9 MATIC and go up from there. You can use up to six different Catalysts per planet mint.

Planets are generative NFTs, but if you don’t want to leave everything up to the fates, Phantom Galaxies offers Planet Catalysts. Catalysts allow Pass owners a chance to guide the creation of their Planet in up to six categories. Catalysts can affect the planetary ecosystem, type of resources, potential discoveries on the planet, and the presence of orbiting bodies, including moons and rings.

Phantom Galaxies uses Chainlink VRF to generate their random numbers when minting Planets. This ensures a fair trait distribution with no possibility of tampering.

There is no deadline for minting your Phantom Galaxies Planet. The Pass and any Planet Catalysts used during the creation process are burned.

Planets in Phantom Galaxies

Planets function as in-game property in Phantom Galaxies. Not only can planets be explored, developed, and visited, but they can also generate ASTRAFER tokens. However, to earn ASTRAFER tokens from planet ownership, players will need to participate in an upcoming, ‘companion game’, called Ceres Quadrant: Recon Phase.

This will be an ongoing theme for planets in Phantom Galaxies. Planet owners can earn income, but they have to interact with the game. No completely passive income. Planets can function as limited social hubs. Owners can also construct buildings such as refineries, markets, and hangars.

I expect that we’ll learn more details about how planets will fit into the larger game over the coming months.

What is Phantom Galaxies?

Phantom Galaxies is story-based, FPS, MMORPG set in a future of space travel and planet colonization. Players follow the storyline quests, fight pirates, and upgrade their character and starships along the way. The game features high-quality graphics and features starship piloting and fighting, as well as walkable, 3D space stations where most of the NPC interactions occur.

Players will own their own Starfighters in the form on NFTs. Other equipment and fusion NFTs will be used to upgrade the fighters. Phantom Galaxies is currently in open beta. They recently added a bounty system, daily and weekly quests were players can earn experience and Credits.

The Phantom Galaxies team has plans for many other features, including arena PvP, PvE raids, crafting, and even potential permanent loss of Starfighter NFTs (in certain zones)!
