Neo SPCC updates Neo Exporter, locode-db with latest ecosystem dependencies

Neo SPCC shipped maintenance updates to two NeoFS infrastructure components, the Neo Exporter monitoring tool and the locode-db geographic location database, aligning both with the latest ecosystem dependencies.

Neo Exporter v0.15.4, released Aug. 25, brings the monitoring tool in line with current NeoFS and Neo stack versions. The release updates to NeoFS SDK RC21, NeoGo v0.122.0, gRPC 1.82.1, and Prometheus client 1.24.1, alongside refreshed cryptographic and networking libraries. No new features were introduced. The release follows v0.15.3 from May and continues the project’s regular maintenance cadence.

locode-db refreshes geographic data

locode-db v0.9.0, released Aug. 24, updates the UN/LOCODE database to version 2025-1. The refresh adds 174 new locations and applies 248 corrections across multiple countries, including coordinate fixes and name updates spanning Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas.

The locode-db provides geographic location data used by NeoFS for node placement, mapping storage nodes to physical locations using the internationally standardized UN/LOCODE system. Keeping this data current ensures NeoFS can accurately represent the geographic distribution of its storage infrastructure.

Beyond the data refresh, the release includes code modernizations taking advantage of newer Go standard library features, improved error handling, and optimized memory allocations. The geometric operations library used for coordinate processing was also updated.

Go 1.26 requirement

Both releases now require Go 1.26 as the minimum build version, up from 1.25 and 1.24 respectively. The shared version floor aligns with the broader NeoFS stack and reflects the ecosystem’s ongoing effort to maintain consistent build requirements across its tooling.

Operators running Neo Exporter or building locode-db from source will need to ensure their build environments support Go 1.26 before upgrading. Pre-built Neo Exporter binaries are available for macOS and Linux on both x86-64 and ARM architectures.
