Susan Friedman, head of policy at Ripple stated that the upcoming House Financial Services Committee hearing is an important event for the crypto industry. She mentioned that a hearing held by House Committee on Agriculture is equally crucial for the market.
A Congressional hearing on the future of digital assets has been scheduled for June 6, 2023. It is done in order to provide clarity around crypto spot markets. Ripple exec praised Congressman Glenn Thompson (R-Penn.) to be a steadfast supporter of the voices seeking clarity in the crypto space.
It is important to note that Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) lands under the House Agriculture Committee’s jurisdiction. The top financial watchdogs, CFTC and SEC have been quite active in pushing regulatory charges around the digital assets linked firms. Meanwhile, the authority has been alleged of not providing clear rules for the market.
