Canton’s design is built around institutional needs. Digital Asset, the creator of Canton, says its DA Registry tokenization tool builds on Canton’s configurable privacy, interoperability and tokenomics, and is aimed at issuers and platform providers launching institutional-grade tokenized assets and cash.
The network leaned into the familiar crypto joke that no chain is taken seriously until memecoins arrive, with the line: “Guess we’re a real chain now.”
Not the First Launchpad Attempt on Canton
Supanova is not the first project to target token creation on the network. CantonNews reported that OneSwap announced a Pump.fun-style launchpad for Canton, aimed at letting users create and trade tokens within minutes. At the time of that report, the platform was described as going live soon, with a waitlist open for early access. The outlet noted that, while Canton has built a strong institutional footprint around tokenized Treasuries, repo and real-world assets, token creation for smaller projects had remained comparatively hard to access.
The institutional side of the network remains its main draw. Digital Asset said in July that its DA Registry tool is trusted by more than 35 tokenization platform providers and issuers, and that it supports more than 1.5 million daily transactions on Canton.
Some caution is warranted on how much of that activity touches the $CC token. Research from Dropstab notes that Canton’s widely quoted tokenized-asset figures are self-reported and cannot be independently audited, and that most activity bypasses the token.
