Uniswap whales pile on amid $3.90–$4.20 support retest: What’s next for UNI?

Uniswap [UNI] is now trading at a level that will determine its future direction.

After two consecutive days of declines, price action is now testing a key support zone between $3.90 and $4.20. The range had flipped several bullish advancements before the most recent breakout that took place back on the 30th of July.

This retracement happens despite the growth of the Uniswap platform, highlighting the retracement as a short-term realignment before a strategic position, most probably at the support zone.

Network growth is being matched by whale demand

Uniswap recently rolled out Uniswap Protocol and UniswapX across its Web App, Wallet, and API, broadening access to its trading infrastructure.

The market has responded with improving on-chain activity. According to the recent Average Order Size data, whale orders on the Uniswap network are surging around current UNI trading prices instead of reducing exposure after the breakout.

The divergence mirrors the increased market optimism, as many investors view the support zone as a potential reversal point.

At the same time, the derivatives market remains tilted toward the bulls, with long positions on the Uniswap network accounting for 56% of total Open Interest.

Funding Rates have also stayed positive for several weeks, showing that traders are still willing to pay a premium to maintain long positions.

While persistently high funding can sometimes signal an overcrowded trade, it also reflects continued confidence that the broader trend remains intact.

Can Uniswap hold its breakout?

Uniswap’s technicals now revolve around one key zone, the support zone between $3.90 and $4.20. The zone is no longer just a support level. It could be on the verge of becoming the foundation of UNI’s anticipated reversal.

If buyers defend it, the recent pullback could reverse another bullish push.  However, a decisive break below the zone would weaken the bullish structure and suggest the July breakout has lost momentum.

Uniswap’s price is still trading above all key EMAs, affirming the long-term bullish bias.

Final Summary

  • Uniswap is retesting its $3.90–$4.20 breakout support after two days of selling, as whales  surge and 56% of derivatives positions remain long.
  • Market sentiment remains constructive despite UNI’s recent pullback.
